What’s the opportunity?

The Business Analyst plays an important role in assisting the Telstra Health Product Team to capture critical insights and support analysis to inform decision-making and optimise business processes. This role works as part of the wider team of Business Analysts to ensure that Telstra Health business requirements are accurately captured and translated into actionable plans that support the organisation's mission of improving digitally-enabled care.


Key Accountabilities & Outcomes

The Business Analyst is an integral position at Telstra Health with responsibility for informing key projects through provision of comprehensive business insights and data and providing support to the wider team to successfully execute projects. Key accountabilities of this role include:

Analysis and Recommendations

  • Assist with analysis of complex business problems and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to support informed decision-making at senior and leadership levels.
  • Assist with analysis and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations, supporting data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support project management activities by providing analysis and recommendations, contributing to project planning, execution, and evaluation.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Participate in collaboration with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and project objectives.
  • Participate in and support the facilitation of workshops and meetings to elicit and validate business requirements, ensuring that all stakeholder needs are understood and addressed.
  • Assist the Senior Business Analyst and Product Managers to manage relationships with external consultants and vendors, assisting with the delivery of services as per contractual obligations.
  • Create detailed reports and documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and project status to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

Best Practice and Measuring Performance

  • Follow business protocols and procedures to align with industry standards and best practice.
  • Provide support to develop and maintain business process models, feeding into areas for improvement and supporting with the implementation of solutions to enhance business efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance business analysis techniques and methodologies.

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
  • Education, certifications or qualifications in Agile is desirable.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a business analyst role, working on operational or new systems-based projects.
  • Solid commercial background with experience working across a business’s operations or IT systems.
  • Strong analytical skills that drive a data-based approach to delivering and reporting on projects.
  • Organisational skills that enable independent working and progressing project deliverables in isolation when required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders of the organisation.
  • Proven ability to work on projects that deliver outcomes.
  • A strong desire to work as part of a strong team that flexes up and down to deliver excellent outcomes and drive projects forward.
  • Experience with project management tools and software, such as Jira and MS Project.
