What’s the opportunity?

Telstra Health provide Revenue Cycle Management software and services to large hospital provider in Bahrain. This role is based on client site in Bahrain and is responsible for ensuring patients are financially eligible for treatment being provided in the hospital.

Key accountabilities of this role are:

  • Obtaining patient insurance details and performing insurance eligibility checks to ensure correct level of cover prior to a patient receiving treatment
  • Provide a customer focused approach working in close collaboration with administration and finance staff to support the accurate insurance eligibility and efficient admission process of patients entering the hospital via admission, emergency and outpatients
  • Provide advice to medical staff regarding the definitions and applications of the various financial classifications
  • Provide advice to medical staff regarding the completion of admission forms (and any other documentation as may be required) to ensure compliance with health fund and other insurers requirements
  • Coordinate eligibility and/or medical necessity requests where there are changes to an existing patient’s treatment plan, or high cost services are required
  • Interview the patient and explain the options of all financial choices to identify patients who may convert from a public to a private patient by electing to use private health insurance
  • Maintain patient/client and staff confidentiality in compliance with Privacy Legislation and the corporate and hospital privacy policies

This role will be required to work overseas in our primary international locations in EMEA and be based in Bahrain.

About you:

  • Bachelor's/Masters Degree in Health Information Management or Healthcare related discipline OR Industry relevant certification e.g. Diploma/Bachelor of Nursing
  • Previous experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Demonstrated commitment and provision of exceptional customer service
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel
  • Able to pick up new applications/systems quickly
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to deal confidently and courteously with people at all levels
  • Knowledge of health insurance and patient admission process (desirable)
