About the role

As a Lifestyle Assistant you will join our Consumer Experience team and assist to develop and deliver a creative and engaging lifestyle program. The team is empowered to proactively engage and listen to our Consumers needs, whilst delivering a wide range of meaningful activities to enhance their lives. In 2022, our team was highly commended at the Victoria Public Health Awards for our innovation and use of technology in Residential Aged Care.

You will be integral to driving engagement and participation of our Consumers through social, recreational, emotional, physical and cultural activities to empower their independence and wellbeing.

About Us

Tallangatta Health Service is a 61 bed, small rural public health service providing a mix of acute, sub-acute, aged care residential, and community services to Tallangatta and the surrounding district. We pride ourselves on being a customer focused, progressive provider of care to our community, patients and residents with a multidisciplinary focus

About you

You will bring to the role your dynamic yet caring nature, coupled with your great sense of humour and passion for life! This role will best suit individuals who are motivated, passionate, reliable, hard-working and dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care in a fun, warm and welcoming environment.

Requirements 

  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Health, or Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care), desirable
  • Progressing towards a Certificate IV in Lifestyle or an interest to study.
  • Passion and experience for delivering consumer-focused care that enhances the lives of our Consumers.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Basic Computer skills. 
  • Team player, flexible with a positive attitude and work independently in delivering program requirements. 
  • Innovative ideas to develop strategies to increase consumer participation.
  • A pro-active and energetic self-starter with a strong customer service focus.
  • Drivers license mandatory, manual and/or bus license desirable.
  • Experience in the ongoing provision of a range of Lifestyle activities in an Aged Care setting is highly desirable. 

All appointments are made subject to the required security screening including National Criminal History, NDIS Worker Screening checks and an immunisation status appropriate to the role, including the COVID19 and influenza vaccinations.
