  • 12 Month Fixed Term role
  • $104,230 + super + leave loading

About the role

As a Business Customer Representative, you will be responsible for building strong relationships with our major business customers. You’ll manage the acquisition of new customers and also build on established relationships with existing customers. You’ll manage customer compliance with our requirements, with a focus on trade wastewater and backflow. You’ll also use business tools to deliver products and services to targeted customer segments. 

In this role you will:

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to business customers
  • Manage a portfolio of major customers which includes both identifying and acquiring new customers, and managing operational relationships with existing customers already connected to Sydney Water’s systems
  • Evaluate, implement and monitor low and high-risk trade waste discharge approvals
  • Work both in the field and using Sydney Water systems to manage customer compliance with requirements
  • Investigate, rectify and report on trade waste incidents
  • Carry out water efficiency activities and identify customer water saving initiatives
  • Use targeted communication skills to build relationships
  • Ensure customers comply with Sydney Water requirements within a customer service framework.
  • Manage projects and contribute to team effectiveness

About you

  • You have a minimum of five years’ experience in a relevant role with demonstrated ability to meet objectives
  • Demonstrated high level of customer service and relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated high level of systems and process skills
  • Demonstrated communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Knowledge of the impacts of commercial and industrial business practices on water utility products and services
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a program of work to business customers
  • Understanding of the delivery mechanisms and types of programs, products and services suitable for major business customers
  • Desirable – relevant tertiary qualification (for example Engineering, Environmental Science) and water industry experience
  • Desirable - Certificate IV Water Operations (Trade Waste)
