About the role

As a Requisition to Pay and Service Advisor, you’ll have the opportunity to positively impact and manage Sydney Water’s procurement related matters by assisting stakeholders to plan, develop, source and manage procurement arrangements to effectively meet organisational and business objectives.

Advisory Services is a high performing team within Business Connect, Sydney Water’s Business Services Centre providing accurate and efficient first contact resolutions on multifunctional enquiries including enquiries, management reports, facilities & workplace services, purchasing, procurement, and accounting enquiries for external suppliers & internal customers.

You must be willing to work on shifts (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Engage and advise key stakeholders on policies, procedures, systems and standards to enable them to deliver effective, outcomes-focused procurement activities across the organisation.
  • Provide quality customer service to managers and staff that consistently meets service standards and targets.
  • Provide the first point of contact and manage enquiries through to completion.
  • Deliver an efficient, client-centric, high-quality accounts payable services to Sydney Water business and vendors.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to ensure payments and query resolutions are consistently delivered to a high standard. 
  • Assist and support line managers in day-to-day Procurement activities including navigation around ESS, receipt and processing of Procurement forms position management and related documentation.
  • Accurately enter information onto the database in a timely manner.
  • Follow appropriate processes and procedures with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adapt to diverse communication channels such as telephone, online chat, face time and/or email in responding to enquiries.

Who are we looking for?

  • Qualifications in Business, commerce, procurement, supply chain management or equivalent and/or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3 years’ experience working in a shared services environment.  
  • Customer Services Certification desirable
  • Knowledge in transactional and operational procurement process and shared services
  • Ability to manage relationship with all key partners to ensure close alignment with business requirements.
  • Ability to manage the purchasing function within Business Connect to ensure efficient and effective delivery of services.
