At Sydney Water we’re innovating a sustainable future where every drop counts. We are looking for a strong business transformation Project/Program Manager to drive the implementation of our Service Excellence organisational transformation across our asset management activities. This is a term role for 2 years.

About the role:

The purpose of this role is to work with the Service Excellence Project Director to ensure the asset management improvement projects/workstreams that make up the Service Excellence Program deliver the required business outputs by managing the program scope to time, quality, cost, resourcing, risks and issues, benefits, change, stakeholders, communications, and integration.

In this role you will manage the program governance framework and structure including lifecycle as well as managing the program scope, time, quality, cost, resourcing, procurement, change, stakeholders, risks & issues, and be able to develop and maintain a detailed program schedules to ensure objectives are met.

What you’ll do: 

Drive implementation: Reporting into the Service Excellence Project Director, you will be responsible for driving the proactive and timely implementation of key workstreams across the business, helping shape and deliver them.

Deliver business results: use your experience to ensure the workstreams and business leads are delivering effectively and are set up for success, in a busy environment.

Know what good looks like: Work with our business SMEs to understand our new operating model and strategic asset management approach, from strategy to operations to capital delivery, and translate it into effective and productive workstreams to embed change.

Establish productive relationships: Establish yourself as a trusted leader at Sydney Water, working with stakeholders at different levels to embed the transformation and deliver results.

Do what it takes: Be prepared to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done with a great team, to make a difference for Sydney.

 

Your experience and qualifications: 

Industry Experience: Significant relevant experience in infrastructure or engineering-based industries.

Transformation delivery experience: Demonstrated ability to deliver complex business improvement or transformation programs with quantifiable outcomes.

Personal impact: demonstration of personal impact in driving delivery and completion of projects to the required business outcome.

Agility and resilient approach: Proven track record of being able to learn quickly and take a flexible approach to achieve outcomes. 

Education: Tertiary qualifications in engineering, technical discipline, business, or management, with relevant postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience. Appropriate certification in project / program management, and / or process improvement essential.
