Lead the planning and delivery of Sydney Water’s $2.5–$4B annual capital program by project managing key projects and programs to ensure timely and effective outcomes.
In this role, you’ll Project Manage the development of integrated, adaptive, and optimized long-term master plans for assets, systems, and regions. These plans will align with organisational priorities, customer insights, and regulatory obligations, delivering balanced outcomes that consider service levels, cost, and risk.
Be at the forefront of shaping Sydney Water’s future through innovative, inter-system servicing strategies that drive impactful and sustainable change.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and project manage planning activities and processes including, preparing and communicating plans and business cases and ensure the quality of planning outputs and solutions.
- Develop business cases and other artefacts that meet Sydney Water’s business expectations and achieve timely approval.
- Proactively manage stakeholder and community engagement and communications for the allocated Programs and/or Projects, ensuring alignment with overarching Sydney Water Communications and Engagement Strategy.
- Be accountable for the timely and to budget execution of assigned capital and operating budget planning Programs and Projects.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Approximately 5+ years relevant industry experience in the field of project management of planning or delivery of infrastructure projects
- Proven project management experience delivering multi-faceted infrastructure planning projects using best practice project management practices and methodologies for timely delivery of quality outputs.
- Demonstrated technical skills (scheduling, cost management and issue/risk management, stakeholder management).
- Solution-focussed analytical, planning, conceptual and advisory skills, combined with innovative and creative problem-solving skills for effective management of conflicting priorities and timeframes, and for developing advice on complex policies and strategies, based on sound judgement and flexibility.
Essential Requirements:
- Degree qualification in relevant discipline (Project Management, Business Management, Portfolio and Program management or Engineering).
- Post graduate qualifications in Program and Project Management or Engineering or similar related qualification will be highly regarded.
