As a Lead Maintenance Engineer/Scientist/Specialist, you will provide technical leadership in reliability and maintenance engineering for sewage pumping stations, rising mains and related assets.

You will take the lead in developing the 1-5 year maintenance and renewal plans, ensuring that both new and existing assets have effective asset and maintenance strategies in place to meet performance, cost, and risk objectives.

The role involves close collaboration with strategic planning, investment teams, delivery partners, and operations teams, with a strong focus on aligning maintenance and renewal planning with organizational goals to drive effective long-term asset management.

Lead Contribution to TOTEX Investment Planning: Drive the integration of responsible assets into the TOTEX Investment and Works Plan, identifying areas of concern for renewal or replacement discussions to meet asset performance goals.

Develop and Review Maintenance Strategies: Lead the review and development of asset maintenance and renewal strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and strategic asset management goals.

Oversee Asset Condition and Risk Management: Monitor the condition of assets, conduct risk assessments, and review specialist reports to ensure effective asset performance and address any issues.

Prepare Renewals and Risk Mitigation Plans: Develop business cases for seed funding for renewals, and lead risk mitigation efforts to ensure assets operate within license limits and remain compliant.

Lead Operational Coordination and Problem-Solving: Act as a leader within the ROMP teams, facilitating discussions on asset performance, managing criticality and spares assessments, and leading root cause analysis for complex or high-risk asset failures.

This role will be based out of Potts Hill, with hybrid working options and travel to sites as needed.

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering, science or a related discipline, or experience deemed equivalent, with demonstrated experience and skills in operations, maintenance, and renewals of wastewater assets. 
  • A comprehensive understanding of asset management or similar developed through industry experience
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, with the ability to synthesise and consolidate a large amount of information for clarity of objective and outcome.
