An exciting opportunity has become available or arisen for a Business Analyst to join the People & Governance team within Sydney Water.

As Business Analyst, you will be identifying, analysing and collaborating with the business on documenting business processes, SAP system impacts and other functional requirements to facilitate improvement and support efficient delivery of business operations and performance in line with organisational strategies and operational plans.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Analyse, document and collaborate in a way that ensures positive working relationships with Process Owners, Digital Group teams and end-users, resolving competing priorities and requirements in the best interests of SWC.
  • Collaborate, Analyse and document process with the intent to identify areas of potential improvement.
  • Provide timely data analysis and insights that encourage constructive conversations with Process Owners to better troubleshoot issues, understand user experience and desired measurable benefits.
  • Technically review and sign off documentation that clearly articulates the current problem, desired solution, and measurable value to the business.
  • Influence and negotiate with stakeholders to obtain consensus for change initiatives to facilitate scoping and setting business priorities.
  • Gather, analyse and translate business data to meaningful insights to support informed decision making to improve the effectiveness of processes and programs.
  • Investigate and respond to SAP and related system business user enquiries in a timely manner.

 Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or information technology (welcomed by not essential)
  • 4+ years’ experience working as a SAP business analysis in a large complex organisation.
  • Experience in a full end to end SAP products project / program implementation (S4HANA desirable) to improve the solution design and ensure business requirements are met.
  • Must have foundational experience in SAP Fundamentals, WRICEF, and specialised Finance and BPC functional domain experience.
  • Demonstrated business and IT experience, including expert knowledge in business analysis including the end-to-end management of change and maintenance requests and driving continuous improvement.
  • Experience in the research, investigation, and the provision of practical solutions to business issues. 
  • High level analytical and problem-solving skills.
