About the role

Reporting to the Engineering Services Leader, the Engineering Services team provides operational expertise in the management of the water, recycled water, wastewater and stormwater networks to achieve customer, stakeholder and regulatory requirements.

As the Program Coordinator you will work with stakeholders to deliver major infrastructure across the Sydney Water area of work, seeing you manage and coordinate operational activities and providing operational advice regarding the provision of services for major sites.

  • Partner with customers, internal stakeholders and external agencies to deliver assigned major infrastructure, development and renewals/maintenance programs across Sydney
  • Case manage and coordinate operational activities for these programs/projects with external agencies, developers and internal stakeholders
  • Undertake developer, council and stakeholder engagement to promote Sydney Water’s strategic direction on liveability, affordability and resilience for customers and communities in line with the corporate strategy
  • Lead virtual teams of Operational Planners, Network Operators, internal and external stakeholders to deliver programs of work.
  • Manage customer enquires (from WSC / Constructor / Project Manager etc) and troubleshoot operational issues for assigned programs
  • Identifying & implementing optimal solutions to enable the timely completion of projects, whilst ensuring the ongoing operations and maintenance of Sydney Water’s network assets.

About you

This position will suit a team member with previous stakeholder management experience, demonstrating your communication and negotiation skills.

Ideally with water / wastewater industry related experience you will have an engineering background to support the technical component of this role.

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • A tertiary qualification in engineering, Diploma in Water Industry Operations, or experience deemed equivalent relating to the operations and maintenance of network assets.
  • A current drivers licenses, with capacity to undertake duties in the field as required
  • A track record in establishing and sustaining effective relationships ideally across government agencies and the urban development industry
  • Knowledge of the appropriate regulatory, operating licence, and customer contract requirements
  • A solid understanding of the application of computerised system and/or maintenance and/or process management systems.
  • Advanced communication skills and personal qualities including ability to translate technical outcomes to operational needs
