About the Role

Looking to get into the world of Vocational Education? This position could be for you. Contract Assessor's will support the Education Delivery team in providing detailed and effective feedback to students within the required business timeframes. As required the contract Assessor will support the Permanent team in reviewing student's placement documentation and determine whether they meet the requirements and unit outcomes for the Certificate II in Animal Care. This is an Independent Contractor position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessing Written Assessments via the learning management system
  • Providing detailed feedback as per the Swinburne Open Education guidelines
  • Completing evaluations of students to determine their skills against the unit outcomes for the CII in Animal Care
  • Coordinating with the training staff to organise work placement
  • Communicating your findings and evaluations to the training team with detailed notes in a timely manner
  • Conducting assessment interviews with the workplace supervisor and the student

About You

  • Diploma or Higher in Veterinary Nursing
  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment
  • Minimum of 3 years working in the Animal Care Industry
  • Working with Children's Check
  • Full, unrestricted Driver's License and personal car for travel
  • Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills

1.   ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

 

The below criteria are mandatory for regulatory requirements:

·        Relevant Industry qualifications, minimum 1 AQF higher than the course being delivered

·        Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Permanent or equivalent capacity in an Industry specific role related to the qualification being delivered.

·        Ability to provide evidence of registration to relevant industry associations and peak bodies as required for the industry area covered by the qualifications being delivered (must be considered current according to industry standards)

·        Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40110 including Units of Competency TAEASS502 and TAELLN411) or TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training or TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development

·        Current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs assessment

·        Knowledge of AQF 2013 and other relevant accreditation schemes

Experience/ Knowledge/Attributes  

·        Confidence in using Microsoft Office Suite including but not limited to the following applications: MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

·        Previous experience using Learning Management Systems

·        Understanding of how to engage students in an online learning environment

·        Superior student and customer service skills 

·        Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills

·        Interest in Technology and understand the impact on Education Delivery

·        Being motivated by innovation and change
