About the Role 

In this newly created position due to growth, you will report to the General Manager of Property & Store Development. As the Head of Property Management, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance and protect the proper and efficient occupation of all physical and financial aspects of our facilities which comprises over 750 stores, offices and distribution centres across Australia and New Zealand. Your exceptional leadership and proven change management experience will ensure the effective management of all lease obligations, trade partners/contractors, costs, and terms, while maintaining a forward view on occupancy costs, identifying opportunities, and managing risks.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Oversee the effective operational delivery of lease administration, including detailed reporting, audit support, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Ensure the planning and delivery of maintenance of existing buildings to agreed standards, providing a safe and compliant environment that supports our team and the omni-retail customer experience. 
  • Lead the Facilities department to ensure delivery of programmed repairs and maintenance, prioritizing and controlling resources to deliver facilities management obligations. 
  • Develop and manage contracts and monitor contractor performance and expenditure against budget. 
  • Implement facilities planning methodology, strategy, and evaluation frameworks. 
  • Provide recommendations on facilities network optimization initiatives in line with Group and Brand network strategies. 
  • Support the continuous review and improvement of commercial terms and partner relationships to optimize the facilities management network. 
  • Develop and maintain suppliers, product and service specifications, and price negotiation. 
  • Develop repairs and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance and safety obligations are met. 
  • Manage Lessor compliance with lease obligations. 
  • Consult and coordinate with stakeholders to manage the Group's resource requirements and strategic agenda. 
  • Develop and manage facilities property service standards. 

About You 

  • Proven experience in senior property management roles within the retail or customer facing industries 
  • Expertise in property portfolio management, including leasing, lease administration, and facilities management.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and inspire high-performing teams. 
  • Led a large transformation program successfully. 
  • Strong strategic planning, analytical, and conceptual thinking skills. 
  • Proven track record in change management and driving continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Implementing new processes and supporting systems to add value and capability.  
  • Proven project management skills, including regulatory compliance. 
  • Strong procurement and contracting experience. 
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Experience in policy and process development. 
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment
