ABOUT THE ROLE 

Due to growth, a new Construction Property Project Manager vacancy has become available for an initial term of seven months. In this role, you will manage or assist with the construction and lease obligations of the Group’s New Store, Extension, Relocation and Refurbishments projects, while also ensuring compliance standards are adhered to, and costs are within the budgets. Coordinating internal resources and external vendors for flawless execution of projects. 

Reporting to our Head of Construction & Store Fitout, you will manage the efficient and effective delivery of projects to ensure quality, program, WHS requirements and budget are met through a hands-on approach. The role forms part of the Property & Store Development business unit managing the overall project management of Property projects through to completion, ensuring alignment to Company and Brand guidelines, Property strategy, goals and safety commitments. 

This hybrid, 7-month fixed term contract position can be based out of the Strathpine (Brisbane) or Rhodes (Sydney) office, it requires regular travel to construction sites, and you can WFH 3 days/week.  

​Responsibilities include: 

  • ​Manage the efficient and effective delivery of 3-4 Property projects concurrently including tracking and managing spend to align with set budgets. 
  • ​Develop scope of works, staging plans, and project timelines applicable for each project 
  • ​Consult with project stakeholders on a regular basis and organise Project meetings to communicate and track progress, risks, opportunities, and reporting. 
  • ​Travel to sites across Australia and NZ, including regional locations to oversee Contractors and monitor progress and risks in person. 
  • ​Consult extensively on drafts and designs to arrive at final store fit out designs and manage flow changes including changes throughout project stage gates in close collaboration with brand personnel. 
  • ​Communicate redesign impacts to cost, layout, and assess in a timely manner to ensure retail brands can adjust retail design. 
  • ​Identify, Report & Resolve if required any potential Workplace health and safety or compliance issues. 


ABOUT YOU 

You will have a passion for our business and a strong delivery mindset - adapting quickly as we work together in a fast-paced retail environment. To be successful in this role, you will bring: 

  • Previous construction project management experience from the retail industry, having led new store, refurbishment, and relocation projects from ideation to completion. 
  • A good understanding and background knowledge of the BCA & NCC.
  • Impeccable communication skills where you can influence all levels and direct peers as well as contractors.  
  • Strong Project Management fundamentals. 
  • Sound negotiation, problem solving and sound collaboration skills. 
  • You are known for your ability to manage projects to cost and timeframes while adhering to high quality and safety standards. 
  • An ability to travel within Australia and New Zealand up to 1-2 days per week.
