About the Role

We are seeking a unique leader for our Erskine Park DC in Sydney. This is an exciting opportunity for a Distribution Centre Manager who not only prioritises safety and operational excellence but also leads with empathy and authenticity, focusing on the hearts and minds of the team to drive performance. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the Distribution Centre's operation, including safety, infrastructure, daily processes, budget management, and team development. This is a role that combines leadership with operational know-how to achieve sustainable results.

Your key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Leading the Distribution Centre with a strong focus on safety and employee well-being, ensuring compliance with all site safety protocols and fostering a safe, supportive environment.
  • Planning and executing for all improvement measures, including operational delivery, efficiency and brand/product operating requirements.
  • Ensuring profitability of the operation, applying sound budgeting principles to an annual budget and controlling operating expenses and productivity to strike the balance of cost/service.
  • Developing the team capability across DC Operations, which includes Managers, Shift Managers, and Team Managers and ensuring clear leadership for the team on training and development planning and execution.

About You

We are looking for a leader who prioritises safety and the people who make our DC run efficiently. You are someone with the expertise to hit the ground running and lead the operation forward. You combine operational knowledge with a deep understanding of what drives individuals and teams to succeed.

In addition, you have:

  • Experience in leading Warehouses and/or Distribution Centres, preferably with experience in Retail, FMCG or multi-brand warehousing.
  • Expert Safety Leadership, including all PCBU requirements for site safety governance.
  • Experience in leading large teams (50+) including management of senior manager roles (DC Operations Manager / Team Manager level).
  • KPI management skills, ensuring key metrics are met while maintaining the well-being of your people.
  • Knowledge on implementing Continuous Improvement programs or methodologies, including delivery of CI programs through teams/direct reports.
  • Experience in commercial management (operational) including Budget build (annual cycle) and active management of cost and productivity measures for a DC.
  • Experience in building high performing and engaged teams, up to Leadership levels.
