Step Up & Take the Lead! We're looking for a skilled Senior Payroll Officer ready to take on more responsibility, guiding and developing a team of Payroll Officers and Administrators. Reporting to the Group Payroll Manager, you’ll be the key go-to expert, ensuring smooth payroll operations for 16,000+ team members across ANZ.

About the Role:

  • Oversee daily payroll operations, monitor workloads, and ensure tasks are completed efficiently
  • Coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers and Administrators across Australia and New Zealand, allocating tasks and supporting to deliver accurate and on time payroll
  • Manage the accurate processing of payroll tax and superannuation payments monthly
  • Stay up to date with legislation changes, ensuring compliance with termination processes and payroll-related calculations
  • Serve as the key contact for all ABS returns and reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process enhancements and supporting the Payroll Leadership Team in implementing change 

About You:

  • Proven experience in a large, multi-site business across Australia & ideally NZ and recognised as the go-to expert for payroll operations
  • Deep knowledge of payroll tax, superannuation, and all Long Service Leave Acts, legislations with the ability to navigate complex payroll matters
  • Leadership experience in a payroll team—allocating work, managing performance, or strong leadership skills ready for the next step
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise for data analysis and reporting
  • A positive, coaching mindset—naturally mentoring, upskilling, and empowering your team while fostering self-learning
