ABOUT THE ROLE 

Reporting into the Chief People & Safety Officer initially, this new position has come about to elevate and promote the consistent identification, assessment and management of risk and compliance across the Group. You will be instrumental in partnering with business leaders within the four Brands and Functions to identify key risks, develop and implement risk management and mitigation strategies, review controls, and monitor risks to ensure SRG is operating within the Board-approved Risk Appetite Statement and tolerance, and ensure the Group is compliant with regulatory requirements. 

This hybrid, permanent and full-time opportunity can be based in the state-of-the-art Strathpine (Brisbane) or Rhodes (Sydney) office with a blend of WFH and time to connect in person.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, and promote the consistent application of the Risk and Compliance Management Framework (RCMF), and the Crisis Management Framework across the Group, fostering a culture of risk awareness.
  • Partner with Brand and Functional management teams to provide advice on the management of Enterprise Risk and Compliance, serving as the “second line” defence.
  • Support the implementation of relevant standards and frameworks, to monitor, review, advise and facilitate training team members, and assist in providing reports to Management.
  • Prepare and update list of Group material risks for discussion with the ELT for presentation and discussion with the Board Risk and Sustainability Committee (BRSC).
  • Coordinate the Incident Management Team when incidents occur to ensure it is captured in the right way, logging the case, and mitigating the same incident from occurring again.
  • Partner with Centres of Excellence such as Payroll, Cyber Security, and IT to ensure legislative compliance requirements are current and up to date.
  • Schedule, plan and facilitate testing and exercising of business continuity and crisis management plans across the Group.
  • Monitor the usage of required templates, standardised registers, taxonomies, and libraries by risk owners in the undertaking of their annual risk and compliance activities.


ABOUT YOU

You have;

  • Significant and demonstrated experience guiding a risk and compliance management function within a large and complex business. 
  • Proficiency and familiarity working with Boards and Executive Leadership Teams, including presenting to the Board.
  • A flair for facilitating and training others as well as collaborating with peers at all levels.
  • A practical and commercial understanding of strategy, risk, safety, and compliance management.
  • You are open to be opposed, can think critically, and enjoy working in a complex business undergoing significant transformation. 
  • Willing to travel to Brisbane from time to time if you're based in Sydney.
