About the service:

headspace is Australia’s National Youth Mental Health Foundation and delivers high quality evidence-based clinical care to achieve better health outcomes for young people aged 12-25 years.

Our multidisciplinary team supports young people by providing support for mental health, physical health, alcohol and other drug use, and getting into work and study.

Role overview:

In this role you will provide practice management support to the headspace led by Stride Integrated services, and management team to deliver and operate mental health services.

You will also:

  • Oversee and support a wide range of administrative task; including management of headspace led by Stride QLD Senior Medical Receptionist and their teams, appointment systems, billing and medical records, onboarding and management of practitioners. 
  • Drive the AGPAL/GPA accreditation process and is responsible for maintaining quality standards for the private practice component of the headspace By Stride Centres, as well as other audit processes that are specific to headspace services.
  • Work across multiple electronic medical systems (Mastercare, Best Practice etc).
  • Based predominantly at headspace Meadowbrook but with regular travel between the five Sth East QLD based sites (mileage allowance on offer to cover travel expenses).

 

Requirements:

  • At least five years’ experience in Practice Management (office management/ administrative management considered) ideally in a primary health/ youth mental health environment.
  • Experience with Primary Health Care Accreditation processes (AGPAL or GPA).
  • Extensive knowledge of Medicare compliance, MBS items codes and billing systems.
  • Experience managing staff including providing supervision, performance reviews and performance management.
  • Excellent organisations skills with the ability to prioritise, meet deadlines, work well under pressure and manage communications and information with staff and private practitioners.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with experience in managing GP practice software for appointment management and skill in all Microsoft Office programs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to maintain a calm, pleasant and respectful manner.
  • The ability to deal with a diverse range of people, in particular to respond to young people with respect and sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative, solve problems and seek counsel where appropriate.
  • Must be eligible to apply/currently hold a Blue Card.
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance.
