Role overview:

  • The Service Leader has responsibility for the provision of leadership, direction, and management for the residential service sites in their region. This includes working in close partnership with the Service Manager to provide practice development and mentoring sessions to a team of Residential Support Workers.
  • With a focus on the day to day delivery of excellence in quality care provision the Service Leader will facilitate and monitor the integration and coordination of client care.
  • Operational management includes recruitment and selection, personal career development, statutory and mandatory training, disciplinary measures and grievance, and delegating as appropriate.
  • The Service Leader provides high-level service input and advice to Stride staff and other stakeholders, ensuring high standards of client care at all times.
  • The Service Leader monitors and reviews the systems and processes used in Client Services and ensures that the collected information is used to analyse service delivery outcomes and to enhance the effectiveness of support for persons with a mental illness.
  • While the role currently covers sites in Taigum, Fitzgibbon and Capalaba, there may be times where the role is required to work temporarily, or permanently, at other locations.
  • This role involves an on-call component which may require weekend and shift work at times.


Requirements:

  • A tertiary degree is preferred, but Diploma qualifications and/ or Certificates in a relevant discipline will also be considered.
  • Ideally a minimum of 1 years’ experience leading a team, or working in a Senior Support Worker role with demonstrated experience mentoring and coaching support workers.
  • Knowledge of the NDIS and experience working within adult mental health and with people experiencing mental illness.
  • Ability to consult and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working within a residential recovery and resilience based model.
  • Demonstrated capacity to relate to clients and other stakeholders with dignity and respect.
  • Ability to think and act calmly and to communicate sensitively with distressed individuals.
  • Ongoing commitment to professional development and willingness to participate in training as required.
  • A good level of computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Must be eligible to apply for/currently hold a Blue Card for paid employment.
  • Must hold/be willing to apply for NDIS worker screening clearance for paid employment.
  • Must hold a current drivers license and have access to a reliable motor vehicle.
