Product Engineering Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a driven individual with a passion for the transportation industry. One of our clients is looking to add a strong Product Engineering Manager to their team. Responsibilities include:

1) Develop and maintain the Product Engineering Team, while identifying and implementing improvements in engineering processes

2) Manage the day-to-day and long-term activities of the Engineering Department, including annual goals setting and performance reviews

3) Serve as the product engineering lead for all products shipped from the manufacturing facility

4) Review projects and activities to determine the time frame and actions needed for success, with particular emphasis on the timely release of information to production

5) Provide engineering metrics for the Monthly Business Reviews

6) Review product designs and drawings for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications

7) Review proposed product specifications related to custom product orders to determine feasibility and manage the release-to-production process

8) Coordinate activities concerned with product technical development, scheduling, building prototypes, and resolving engineering design and test issues

9) Prepare costing reports on current and new designs to ensure decisions are based on accurate data

10) Be flexible to take on special projects as needed

11) Participate in seminars, meetings, and training sessions to stay apprised of new developments in the dump truck industry

12) Confer with personnel in other departments, such as Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Finance, and Procurement to provide technical information and advisement, as needed

13) Perform other duties as assigned

Critical Requirements

1) A university degree is required. Although all candidates are welcome and encouraged to apply, preference will be given to those with degrees in a relevant field

2) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

3) Recent experience in the transportation industry is strongly preferred

4) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in engineering management
