We are currently seeking a Process Operations Superintendent to join our Processing team. This is a three year full-time position at our Simberi Operations. Roster is 21/14 FIFO from any Australian Capital City.
Reporting to the Manager Processing you will support the Manager in managing the process operations function within the processing department. You will mentor, encourage and promote confidence in the National workforce.
The opportunity
- Ensuring that the fit-for-purpose systems in place in the Processing Department are operating properly.
- Ensuring that the Processing function delivers to plan in respect of production, recovery and cost per tonne.
- Maximising the recovery from the ore delivered to the ROM.
- Coordinating daily ore delivery with mining to ensure consistent mill throughput.
- Ensuring that the Processing function meets its environmental and community obligations and is considered a welcome guest in host communities.
- Ensuring a constructive and creative environment for business and operational improvement within the Processing function of the Processing Department.
- Provide processing expertise for the training and coaching of employees through identifying and providing training requirements for individual employees to improve their skill levels.
- Ensuring timely, accurate reporting of Processing function performance to the Manager Processing and other internal and external parties.
- Managing of process operations budget and ensure fixed and variable costs are within budget.
- Contributing productively as a member of the Processing Department Leadership Team
- Delivery of continuous improvement projects in a timely manner as prioritised by the department planning.
- Ensuring that the Processing function develops and uses effective plans that derive from and support the Processing Department and Simberi Operations plans.
- Ensuring Mill relines are coordinated in parallel with Maintenance shutdown activities and efficiently executed as required.
- Provide weekly feedback to Maintenance Department on weekly scheduling and shutdown priorities.
- Providing input in to and management of individual actions from annual department planning.

- Significant relevant mining experience, in equivalent or senior positions.
- Degree in Metallurgy, Chemistry or Engineering desired but not essential.

- Demonstrated success in continuous improvement.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
- High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals.
