We are currently seeking a Supply Superintendent to join our team. This is a three-year fixed term full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Working a 21/14 FIFO Roster from any Australian capital city

Reporting to the Manager Commercial, you will lead the site Supply team overseeing the purchasing, logistics, warehouse and inventory management functions. In addition, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining supply policies and procedures that are consistent with corporate requirements, are practical in their application and deliver value to the Simberi operation.

 The opportunity

  • Providing leadership, direction and supervision for the Supply and Warehouse teams.
  • Creating and maintaining policies, procedures, and workflows for the Supply department activities, from end-to-end inventory and warehouse management to logistics and transportation (air, sea, and land).
  • Controlling internal warehouse activities to ensure efficient receiving, storing, and distribution of goods.
  • Conducting regular stock takes to ensure accuracy and availability of stock.
  • Working closely with the maintenance teams to ensure availability of critical parts.
  • Developing and recommending improvements in warehouse practices to promote safety and customer satisfaction.
  • Providing inventory reporting and analysis to the Manager Commercial as required.
  • Providing expediting reports to the site maintenance teams on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
  • Monitoring and proposing changes to inventory levels to ensure the efficient use of the company’s working capital and develop and initiate strategies for the reduction of slow moving and obsolete stock. 
  • Actively working with site Maintenance staff to ensure cost effective and efficient planning for shutdowns and emergency breakdowns.
  • Negotiating prices, terms, and other areas that can deliver value (in the context of ‘Total Cost of Ownership to the Business’).

We would love to hear from you if you have​:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business/Management.
  • CIPS qualification and experience in relation to port operations is desirable.
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen to ensure appropriate management of contracts and supply chain outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills, including communicating with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines on multiple tasks.
  • High level of enthusiasm for the work with high performance goals.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise.
  • Proactive with an ability to work with minimal supervision.
