Star Group, a family-owned Tier 1 electrical, communications, and maintenance contractor, is looking for a dynamic FP&A Business Partner to lead financial strategy and drive informed decision-making across the business.

As an FP&A Business Partner, you’ll play a vital role in supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, while providing strategic insights through data visualisation and collaboration. You’ll work closely with project, divisional, and executive teams, shaping financial strategies that contribute to Star Group’s continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead annual budgeting and monthly forecasting processes
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and variance analysis
  • Utilize data visualisation tools like Tableau and Power BI to deliver actionable insights
  • Provide strategic support for long-term planning and investment analysis
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Board, and Executive team on special projects and business initiatives, offering financial guidance and recommendations.
  • Monitor financial risks, including tracking project costs, revenue forecasts, and cash flow.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and reporting systems for operational efficiency and better decision-making.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3+ years in FP&A, business analytics, or management accounting
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field
  • Accounting qualification (e.g. CA, CPA) or studying towards completion
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting tools
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and data visualisation tools, e.g. Tableau, and Power BI for automation and reporting
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable recommendations
  • Adaptable and collaborative, with a passion for driving business performance
