The role
As Director, Front-End (Legal) at Source Projects, your role will be to develop a high performing team that delivers exceptional support, advice and compliance to parties that undertake capital projects. You will be responsible for:
- Developing and leading the team: You will have the opportunity to create a best-in-class team, driven to redefine the way we deliver advice, support and strategy on projects.
- Redefining Commercial Strategy & Contract Advice: working not only with the client, you will be jointly advising on projects with our embedded commercial team to craft bespoke contracts.
- Drive End-to-End Project Delivery: Take charge of overseeing complex projects from start to finish, delivering exceptional results in collaboration with a team of motivated, like-minded professionals.
- Advising on claims and disputes: Your deep expertise and knowledge of the project and contracts will be invaluable where projects don’t stay on track, so expect to be part of our team that advise and assist our clients navigating issues that undoubtedly arise.
This leadership position requires you to utilise all your legal, commercial, entrepreneurial and experiential knowledge to building something different.

You are all those things, and you have arrived at these core beliefs because you are open minded and technically brilliant, and to lead our team, we are looking for a leader that has:
- Senior Front-end construction legal experience (with at least 10 years’ experience), with the ability to manage complex matters autonomously without supervision.
- A strong background in contract negotiation, project advisory, and risk management.
- Experience in advising on ongoing projects.
- Extensive experience advising contractors, subcontractors, developers, and government entities on contract risk and project delivery strategies.
- Deep understanding and experience in drafting, negotiating and settling construction contracts, including Australian Standards, government contracts and deeds and bespoke agreements.
- Ability to provide commercially focused legal advice in a fast-paced project environment.
- Proven track record of working on large-scale infrastructure commercial, and residential construction projects.
