The opportunity:
At SkyBus, we pride ourselves on driving continuous improvement across all our operations. This role will be an ideal fit for someone that is passionate about building strong relationships with staff, improving operational performance and driving business profitability.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will have direct accountability for a pool of Bus Drivers based at our flagship Tullamarine depot and ensure they are performing at an optimum level at all times. Encouraging a safety and customer centric culture through leadership and regular engagement is crucial in this role as we strive to continually provide safe, clean, affordable and reliable services for our valued customers.
What you'll be involved in:
- Aligning your team to business values and objectives through active leadership
- Developing employee capabilities through coaching, training and succession planning
- Allocating resources and making ongoing changes as part of rostering to meet operational requirements
- Conducting the investigation of incidents, accidents, and customer complaints to determine cause and taking necessary actions to prevent reoccurrence
- Managing fleet maintenance and presentation by collaborating with the Workshop Manager to ensure fleet reliability, cleanliness and safety
- Ensure compliance with service contract obligations by analysing operational performance data
- Providing support to frontline employees during incidents and emergencies
- Adopting a continuous improvement approach to all business processes
- Conducting performance improvement meetings and attending to disciplinary matters
- Being active in the network by performing Bus Driver and Customer Service Officer duties when required

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Logistics, Management or equivalent highly desirable
- Experience working in a fast-paced operational environment leading large teams
- High level of initiative and demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgement in making quick decisions
- Strong computer literacy, communication and problem-solving skills

- Hold or have the ability to obtain a heavy vehicle drivers licence (HR or above), CPVV Driver Accreditation and Working With Children Check
