The opportunity:

Ready to take the wheel on a dynamic and fast-paced career? SkyBus is looking for motivated and detail-driven Dispatch Controllers to help keep our operations running smoothly at our Tullamarine depot.

As a Dispatch Controller, you’ll be the heartbeat of our daily operations – coordinating bus schedules, managing last-minute changes, and ensuring our services run like clockwork. You'll be the go-to support for our driving team, helping deliver the exceptional service and safety standards that SkyBus is known for.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, with additional weekend shifts available.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Proactively manage unplanned absences by covering vacant shifts to ensure service continuity.
  • Allocate vehicles efficiently and coordinate smooth bus yard departures.
  • Organise and manage schedules for driver and vehicle changeovers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Control Centre to relay timely updates on service disruptions.
  • Provide on-the-ground support to frontline staff during incidents and emergencies.
  • Monitor real-time operational changes and ensure systems are updated accordingly.
  • Prepare and process weekly rosters, timesheets, and payroll in line with industrial agreements.
  • Track daily operational performance, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.

The boxes you'll tick: 

  • Proven experience coordinating large teams, with exceptional planning and organisational skills.
  • Confident using computers, with solid skills in Microsoft Office and reporting tools.
  • A proactive, self-motivated mindset and a flexible attitude in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • A strong understanding of safety regulations and internal compliance standards, with hands-on experience in monitoring and maintaining them.
  • A true team player with great interpersonal skills – equally comfortable working independently or within a team.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to provide direction and updates with ease.
  • A valid Medium Rigid (MR) driver’s licence and relevant accreditation, plus a Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
