About the Opportunity

We are seeking a Full Time cleaner to deliver cleaning requirements within Detention facilities based in Christmas Island. To be successful for this role you must be willing to relocate to Christmas Island where you will be provided single type accommodation If you are from the mainland. Permanent residents will be highly regarded due to the position being full time.

This is an amazing opportunity with extensive employment & growth opportunities across Serco’s many contracts. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Ensure high standard of hygiene and cleanliness of all facilities
  • Manage time to ensure all cleaning duties are completed within required deadlines
  • Report faults or damages to the cleaning supervisor
  • Maintain WHS standards in the workplace
  • Work in a team environment to ensure efficient workflow 

About you – Your ideal skills and experience:

  • This role will suit someone with the willingness to work flexible hours and an ability to manage their own time to meet deadlines
  • Previous cleaning experience required
  • The role involves manual handling and lifting and may require incumbents to stand for lengthy periods and work in hot or noisy environments.  
  • This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role.
