As a Dental Assistant, you’ll make a positive impact by:
- You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to a Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist
- You will assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records, as well as other duties as required
- You will assisting in the promotion of oral health to patients
- You will ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, including accordance with Defence Policies & Procedures.
- You will contribute to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures
- Minimum of 2 years’ (full time equivalent) chair-side experience within the last 5 years.
- Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities.
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.

About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
About Stirling
Located approximately 45km South of Perth on Garden Island, HMAS Stirling provides operational and logistics support to the RAN ships, submarines and aircraft based in WA. The base is home to RAN Submarine Training & Systems Centre, Training Centre West complex, Defence Communications Station Perth, and is a trials/research & support facility. Health Centre services include primary medical, underwater medicine, nursing, mental health, physiotherapy, dental and pharmaceutical services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 16.00 Monday – Friday.
Please note:
If this location is not close to where you reside, we may have flexible working arrangements available including FIFO, hybrid, and locum options.
You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role.
You don’t need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
