Make an impact at Serco

As the Asset Supervisor at the Christmas Island Immigration Detention Centre, you will oversee subcontractors and service delivery in facilities management, ensuring smooth operations that support the Australian Border Force and Department of Home Affairs. Your role will ensure compliance with key performance indicators (KPIs) and contractual obligations, while fostering a culture of safety and high standards.

As an Asset Supervisor, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Supervising and directing facilities management operations across the centre
  • Overseeing subcontractors to ensure compliance and high service standards
  • Implementing health, safety, and environmental (HSE) activities to safeguard all stakeholders
  • Leading cost-saving initiatives and optimising operational efficiency
  • Supporting asset management reporting and continuous improvement efforts
  • Managing a small team to deliver on contractual and operational requirements

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • A trade qualification or relevant experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or similar fields
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of facilities management, maintenance, or asset management
  • Strong leadership and planning skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and Federal Police Clearance
