Make an impact at Serco

As a kitchen supervisor at Clarence Correctional Centre, you’ll oversee the operations of the kitchen while supervising and guiding inmates in enhancing their skills. Reporting to the Catering Manager, you'll contribute to the safety, security, and rehabilitation of inmates in line with Serco’s operating principles. Your leadership will promote post-release employment prospects for inmates and ensure that high-quality service standards are met.

As a Kitchen Supervisor in the Justice team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

• Managing and coordinating staff and inmates in the kitchen area
• Ensuring production targets and customer standards are met
• Overseeing inventory management and kitchen equipment maintenance
• Leading the development of inmates’ work skills and rehabilitation
• Maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations
• Supervising day-to-day kitchen operations and promoting Serco’s values

Serco is a place for you

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery
• Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (or willingness to obtain)
• Certificate III in Correctional Practice ( or willingness to obtain)
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
• Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety requirements
• Experience in a commercial kitchen or similar environment

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia.
