Make an impact at Serco
As a Stores Administration Officer at Acacia Prison, you will support the daily operations of the Prisoner Canteen services, supervising inmate workgroups and maintaining inventory levels. You’ll work closely with both staff and inmates, ensuring smooth operations while upholding security and safety standards. This full-time, permanent role reports to the Supply Chain Supervisor.

As a Stores Administration Officer in the Justice team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Supervising a group of up to 15 prisoners per shift in the canteen
  • Managing canteen stock levels and placing orders with external suppliers
  • Performing monthly stocktakes and updating pricing through the CMS
  • Handling prisoner and staff enquiries professionally and efficiently
  • Monitoring and reporting any potential security issues or breaches
  • Maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety protocols

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work collaboratively and supervise inmate workgroups
  • Experience in inventory management and stock control
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain security clearances
  • High-level communication skills, including conflict resolution
