Dental Assistant

SERCO are currently seeking casual Dental Assistants to join our dental team in QLD. In this role you will be working 100% chairside, assisting our Dentists in providing dental services to the Australian Defence Personnel.   

About The Role:

• Casual Role
• $32 per hour

Primary Duties:

• Preparing and sterilising dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they meet infection control standards
• Assisting with patient management, chair positioning, and passing instruments during procedures
• Recording and updating patient medical histories, treatment plans, and notes
• Maintaining a clean and safe treatment area by following sterilisation protocols
• Preparing and mixing dental materials such as fillings, impressions, and cements

About The Locations:

Oakey Health Centre located just 3km from Oakey QLD at the Army Aviation Centre. The health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical and mental health services to on base ADF members. Staff may be required to work across Cabarlah (14km north of Toowoomba) & Oakey. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday.

Amberley Health Centre is located approximately 50 minutes from Brisbane near Ipswich at RAAF Base Amberley. The health centre provides medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, mental health, and pharmaceutical services to ADF members.
The health centres operating hours are typically Monday to Thursday, 0700-1630, and a half-day (5.5 hours) on Friday

Mandatory Requirements:

• Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance
• Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 2 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) chair-side dental assisting experience within the last 5 years
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification
