As a Canteen Facilitator You’ll play a vital role in supporting the day-to-day operations of Australia’s largest Correctional Centre – Clarence Correctional Centre, located near Grafton, NSW.
This is a permanent full-time opportunity where your contribution will help foster a safe, secure and respectful environment while ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the Canteen.

You’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Accurately maintain and record inmate’s purchases (Buy-ups) within Clarence.
  • Ensure 100% of deliveries to the Centre are subject to the required security checks to maintain the integrity of the Centre’s security.
  • Ensure Buy-ups are checked and delivered to relevant areas and all supporting documentation is completed.
  • Maintain computer record systems relating to Buy-ups that align with Centre policies.
  • Work with Trade instructors and warehouse supervisor to ensure delivery timetables are met.
  • Assist in the delivery of stock items throughout the Centre as required.
  • Other general warehousing duties as required.

To be successful in this role you’ll have:

  • Qualifications: Certificate in stock management/control or equivalent hands-on experience in warehouse operations, such as Inventory management and familiarity with relevant technology,
  • Licensing Requirements: A valid forklift license and a current driver’s license are required for this role.
  • Effective Communication: Clear and constructive communication is essential to support safety and learning outcomes.
  • Patience and Empathy: Essential for building trust and fostering a supportive learning environment when working with inmates.
  • Reliability and Integrity: Being trustworthy and principled is key to setting a positive example in a correctional environment.
  • Physical Capability: As this role involves manual handling tasks such as lifting and moving items, a good level of physical fitness is essential.
  • Adaptability: The ability to remain calm and responsive in changing or unexpected circumstances is critical in a correctional environment.
