Make an impact at Serco

As an Control Room Operator (also called Operational Support Grade or OSG) at Auckland South Corrections Facility, you'll play a vital role in the daily operations of the prison. Your contributions will help reduce re-offending and ensure the smooth operation of control rooms, visitor processing, and operational communications.

  • As an OSG in the Justice & Immigration team, you’ll make a positive impact by:
  • Operating master and residential control rooms using cutting-edge monitoring technology
  • Overseeing vehicle movements and access at the Gatehouse
  • Ensuring the safe and secure induction of prisoners in the receiving office
  • Contributing to the smooth operation of stores and canteen services
  • Participating actively in team meetings to foster a positive, collaborative environment
  • Promoting and supporting the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport

  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A responsible and ethical approach to work, with high personal integrity
  • Familiarity with Maori language, values, and customs (desirable)
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with office technology
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • You must have legal rights to work in New Zealand (This role does not support a visa application)
