Make an impact at Serco
As an Industries Supervisor at Acacia Prison, you will manage and coordinate staff and inmates in their designated industries area to ensure all contracts are met to customer standards. You will lead a team to promote rehabilitation and reintegration, enhance post-release employment prospects, and contribute to maintaining a safe and respectful environment. This is a permanent, full-time role based in Wooroloo, WA, within the Justice division.

As a Trade Supervisor in the Industries team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Providing strong leadership and guidance to staff, promoting Serco’s values and code of conduct
  • Overseeing and managing staff and inmate activities to ensure productivity, safety, and compliance with operational procedures
  • Developing and implementing training programs to enhance inmates' skills and employability
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and safety standards
  • Conducting risk assessments and job safety analyses to maintain a safe work environment
  • Managing inventory, tools, and equipment to ensure efficient operation of the industries area

You have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to safety and compliance, and a passion for supporting rehabilitation and reintegration efforts. You are adaptable, resilient, and driven to make a positive impact.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • Relevant trade qualifications and experience in a supervisory role
  • Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements and their application in an industry environment
  • Ability to manage and develop a diverse team, including staff and inmates
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • A commitment to cultural awareness and respecting diversity
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, or willingness to obtain this qualification within the first year of employment
