Make an impact at Serco

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring effective inmate employment operations at the largest correctional facility in Australia.
You’ll be responsible for scheduling, rostering and remunerating inmates for their work within the Centre.
You’ll work closely with employment service leaders and correctional staff in a full-time, permanent position.
You’ll be based at the Clarence Correctional Centre in Lavadia, NSW, 12.5 km south-east of Grafton.

As an Employment, Scheduling & Remuneration Officer in the Centre Services team, you’ll make a positive impact by:

  • Scheduling and processing inmate employment appointments using OIMS and other systems
  • Maintaining accurate records of inmate attendance and hours worked
  • Ensuring remuneration aligns with inmate's work contributions
  • Communicating with the Job Centre Facilitator to manage job vacancies
  • Supporting the creation and improvement of administrative systems for inmate rosters
  • Liaising effectively with internal stakeholders and responding to queries promptly

About Clarence Correctional Centre 

Opened in mid-2020, this 1,700-bed state-of-the-art facility is the largest correctional Centre in Australia.  

Located on the beautiful NSW North Coast approx. 6 hours' drive from Sydney and 3.5 hours from Brisbane our region offers rainforests, epic headlands, sand dunes and some of the best Australian beaches with a variety of multi-cultural cafes, restaurants, and friendly community towns.

To be successful in this role, you’ll have:

  • A Diploma in HR, Business, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in administration, data management and accurate records
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of or experience using HRIMS or similar systems
