THE ROLE
The Head Chef for Scape is a driven leader who is engaging, passionate and charismatic. You will be empowered to set the vibe at our properties as we launch and continue to grow.
The Head Chef is responsible for all food production across the Scape Eats operations, leading and developing the Scape Eats team and executing on a world class operation. Key responsibilities will consist of developing and monitoring food and labour budgets for Scape Eats team, maintaining the highest professional food quality, sanitation standards and People leadership.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily food preparation, production and implementation of menus which are designed to deliver innovative, and are culturally diverse to meet our customer needs and aligns with budget guidelines
- Manage Scape Eats team rostering, on the job training and operational support on an ongoing basis to a high standard
- Establish positive relationships with the residents, suppliers and external stakeholders
- Assist in the development of the Annual Business Plan and Financial Budget, used as a guide to control expenditure during the financial year
- Ensure the appropriate escalation and communication of an incident to management and any other relevant stakeholders, in line with Scape’s current Incident Management plans, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Direct & oversee implementation of initiatives that support achievement of the Scape ESG strategy & targets
THE REQUIREMENTS
- High level of hygiene knowledge and handling, specifically the First-in-First-Out (FIFO)
- Exceptional volume cooking and presentation skills
- Strong leadership and management skills, working with a variety of associates of different skill levels and varied backgrounds
- Ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure
- Self-motivated and acquire the ability to creatively problem solve
- Thoroughness, attention to details, and excellent organisational skills
- Excellent decision-making and ability to proactively make changes as needed
- Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with associates, management, clients, and vendors if necessary
- Food Handling Certificate or other relating qualifications regarding food preparation and maintenance (desirable)
