Assistant Accountant

ABOUT THE ROLE 

As the Assistant Accountant, you will be a key player in the end-to-end accounting and finance cycle of the accounting and periodic book close process for the Scape Finance Operations team ensuring that the completeness, accuracy and timeliness of Scape general ledger information and reports. You will work on financial close, reconciliations, and journals as well as work with the operational team to drive a mutual understanding and collaboration of the overall business improving the reporting and internal control processes. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE 

• Ability to perform month-end processes such as reconciliations and transactions recording with relevant previous experience.
• Previous experience in a medium to large private trading company.
• Experience with medium to large ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, and other MS Office products – Word, PowerPoint, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both written and verbal in English.
• Can do attitude with an ability to take on challenges and drive to resolution of issues.
• Energetic and determined to achieve goals and deadlines irrespective of obstacles.
• Self-starter with an ability to take on initiative and proactively work towards team and company goals).
• Detail-oriented with the ability to perform and review accurate input of information.
• Ability to prioritise competing workloads.
• Effective and efficient in tasks and time management.
• Dependable, enthusiastic and a team player.
