 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The facilities team is growing, we have a brand-new hands-on Facilities Manager role to join the Facilities Team. Managing the Facilities team and an allocated Melbourne-based portfolio, you’ll be part of an enthusiastic team that maintains the best purpose-built student accommodation facilities in Australia. 

Our Facilities team goes above and beyond for our residents and team members to ensure that our assets are always maintained in excellent condition. You will need to own your role, contribute to an environment of continuous improvement, and lead by example.

Key areas of responsibility for the successful candidate will include: 

  • Ensuring compliance, statutory, health & safety obligations across all properties and all updates to these requirements are actioned promptly
  • Managing programmed and reactive maintenance works across the Scape (City) portfolio, including the ongoing management of contractors and working closely with the National Facilities Manager regarding financial planning and budgets
  • Ownership of defect, liability and warranty issues across a number of our properties
  • Administering Facilities Management software, including works, asset and contractor management applications
  • Leading a team of Facilities staff, and working closely alongside the National Facilities Manager and other interstate Facilities Managers.
  • Assisting with the overall strategic approach of Facilities, ensuring planning is in place to maintain the highest standards of service and that the company is best placed to face the challenges of a constantly changing economic climate

 THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking a highly driven Facilities Manager with the ability to make measured decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The successful Facilities Manager will have the following skills and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Facilities Manager
  • Outstanding organisational & coordination skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and working under pressure
  • Strong contractor management skills
  • A hard worker with an excellent attention to detail, who is proactive in identifying and troubleshooting issues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment
  • Wide understanding of legal requirements and statutory obligations applying to buildings
  • Good knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Experience with managing DLP and handover with new Buildings
