Who we are?

Scape’s vision is to be the Earth’s best living company (so you can see straight off the bat we are a conservative bunch!). We are a leading provider of student accommodation in Australia. We currently have the capacity to provide a home to 18,000 students (and are growing) and we don't simply provide a bed and roof; we also provide a unique, amazing experience and a safe environment to help students make the most of their studies.

The Role - A Day in the Life of Scape’s Accounts Payable Officer:

As our Accounts Payable Officer, you’ll be the engine behind our finance operations, ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time. You’ll manage vendor invoices, reconciliations, and payment runs, all while collaborating with internal teams to keep everything running like clockwork. This is a position based in our Sydney HQ full time right next to Wynyard station!

No two days are the same at Scape, but here’s a taste of what your day could look like:

  • Handle vendor invoices, ensuring correct coding, approvals, and timely payments.
  • Set up new vendors, verify bank details, and maintain the vendor master file.
  • Process payment runs, send remittance advice, and reconcile vendor accounts.
  • Assist with closing the AP sub-ledger and meeting reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare AP ageing reports, variance reports, and other key financial insights.
  • Identify ways to streamline AP processes and contribute to system enhancements.
  • Liaise with internal teams and vendors to resolve queries and build strong relationships.

What Makes You Successful

You’re detail-oriented, organised, and proactive, with a passion for keeping financial operations in check. You love problem-solving, take pride in accuracy, and work well under deadlines in a fast-moving business. Here’s what sets you apart:

  • Experience in a high-volume AP environment.
  • Familiarity with general ledger systems (NetSuite and/or Webexpenses a plus).
  • High proficiency in Excel for reconciliations and reporting.
  • Passion for streamlining workflows and improving efficiency.
  • Confidence to challenge discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Enthusiastic, dependable, and ready to support the finance team.
  • You bring strong time management skills and an eagle eye for accuracy in high-volume environments
