Graduate Accountant - Development

The Role - A Day in the Life of Scape’s Graduate Accountant - Development 

As our Graduate Accountant, you’ll step into a fast-paced and hands-on role within our Finance team. While this is a graduate position, it calls for someone who’s confident with the fundamentals, shows initiative, and is ready to hit the ground running. You’ll support the financial operations behind large-scale property development projects—owning day-to-day tasks like reconciliations, journals, stakeholder follow-ups, and reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build on their early experience and grow within a high-performing team that values accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.  

No two days are the same at Scape, but here’s a taste of what your day could look like:  

• Work with the AP team to ensure vendor payments are processed on time and coded correctly. 
• Follow up with internal stakeholders to keep invoice approvals moving. 
• Post journals and complete intercompany and bank reconciliations accurately and on schedule. 
• Assist with preparing monthly management reports, cashflow forecasts, and statutory accounts. 
• Support the team during month-end close and ensure all development-related costs are accounted for. 
• Help maintain the fixed asset register and prepare depreciation schedules for projects in development. 
• Assist with BAS preparation for development entities. 
• Ensure financial records are complete, current, and audit-ready. 
• Spot opportunities to improve processes, reporting, or data accuracy—and speak up. 

What Makes You Successful 

You’re someone who’s comfortable in a fast-moving environment and can juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the details. You take ownership of your work, ask smart questions, and jump in where you see a need. If you’re proactive, curious, and looking to grow, you’ll thrive here. 

Here’s what sets you apart: 

• You’ve already had some exposure to accounting or finance (property experience a plus). 
• You’re planning to study or are currently studying CA or CPA. 
• You’re confident working with Excel and know your way around core Office tools. 
• You’ve got strong communication skills and aren’t afraid to follow up or ask the right questions. 
• You’re detail-oriented and can spot when something doesn’t look quite right. 
• You’re a self-starter who shows initiative and can adapt quickly when priorities shift. 
• Experience with NetSuite, Power BI, or Tableau is a bonus.
