At RUAH we’re looking for a passionate and dedicated Female Support Worker to join our Family Services Team!

Your role as a Support Worker will be to work in a trauma informed way to support clients in crisis who are escaping domestic violence at our women's refuge in the Perth Metro area. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of intersecting mental health, drug and alcohol and domestic violence issues.

What we’re looking for

  • Completion of or progress towards a relevant qualification (Certificate II/III), and/or relevant work experience, and/or lived experience.
  • Ability to engage with individuals within different levels of needs and build and maintain a professional relationship.
  • Ability to work independently and contribute to the functioning of the team.
  • Ability to model positive behaviours, emotional maturity, coping skills and resilience.
  • Good interpersonal and effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and client reporting system.
  • Willingness and ability to work within and contribute to the vision, mission, core values and the guiding principles of the organisation.
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity, gender and social inclusion, particularly Aboriginal culture. 

Knowledge/ experience of working with women escaping domestic violence will be highly regarded.
