About the Role

The Strategic Communications Officer will play a key role within Ruah’s Marketing, Engagement & Partnerships (MEP) team, supporting the development and delivery of communications strategies that aligns with Ruah’s mission.

Reporting to the General Manager - Marketing, Engagement & Partnerships, this role will focus on creating clear, effective messaging across internal and external channels, supporting change management, and developing communication plans for key projects. The Strategic Communications Officer will also build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure communication efforts are well-coordinated and aligned with Ruah’s goals.

This is a full-time permanent position.

What we’re looking for

It is expected that the successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following:

Desirable qualification(s)

  • Tertiary qualification preferably in journalism or communications and/or relevant industry experience are mandatory.

Essential criteria

  • Strong writing and editing skills across print and online channels, with the ability to adapt style, tone, and voice for different audiences, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic communication plans that align with organisational goals, effectively engage stakeholders, and drive measurable outcomes.
  • Experience working collaboratively with teams and Executive.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in communications or a related field.

Desirable criteria

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of diversity and social inclusion- including gender, sexuality, disability, cultural, age, and linguistic diversity and Aboriginal culture.

  • A salary aligned with Level 5 of Ruah’s Enterprise Agreement (& SCHADS Award) with a base salary starting from $97,689 per annum.
