Who Is RMIT Online?

We’re not just another online education provider; we’re pioneers in supporting students to propel their careers through our accredited program portfolio. By partnering with industry experts and leading academics, we create engaging, practical courses designed to help students excel.

Our mission? To foster a community of lifelong learners equipped to meet the demands of the future workforce.

Why Work With Us?

Our perks are off the charts! We’ve mastered the art of flexibility with a hybrid model that lets you work remotely and pop into the Melbourne office when needed (usually twice weekly, but more about that later).

We’re passionate about continuous learning and offer exciting opportunities to engage with industry leaders, leading academics and cutting-edge technology.

Tell me about the role

At RMIT Online, we know that the best learning happens when education and industry collide. That’s where you come in.

As our Industry Partnerships Specialist, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our programs reflect real-world industry needs. You’ll connect with subject matter experts, guest speakers, and industry partners, embedding their insights into our courses and professional development initiatives. While you’ll deliver some industry-led events, your primary focus will be sourcing and managing industry contributors—making sure their expertise is seamlessly integrated into our accredited and non-accredited programs.

This role is a mix of stakeholder engagement, project management, and strategic problem-solving. You’ll work closely with our Industry Partnerships Manager and Head of Industry Partnerships, while also collaborating with teams across Product, Course Design, Careers, Marketing, and Student Success. Your ability to build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and juggle multiple projects will be key to ensuring RMIT Online continues to deliver cutting-edge, industry-informed education.

If you love working at the intersection of education and industry, enjoy building meaningful partnerships, and thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment—this could be the perfect role for you.

Let’s talk about our ideal candidate

We’re looking for a natural connector—someone who enjoys engaging with a range of stakeholders and can have meaningful conversations about skills gaps, industry trends, and workforce needs. Whether it’s chatting with a senior executive about emerging industry skills or guiding an SME through the process of contributing to a course, you’ll need to be adaptable, confident, and an excellent communicator.

You’ll also need strong organisational and project management skills. Managing multiple contributors across different courses and events means juggling competing priorities, keeping track of deadlines, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. You’ll know when to follow a structured process and when to think on your feet to solve a problem.

Collaboration is key to success in this role. You’ll work across various teams, ensuring that industry perspectives are meaningfully embedded into our learning programs. This means being proactive in aligning stakeholders, keeping projects on track, and ensuring our engagement processes are efficient, scalable, and impactful.

Whether you have experience in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, education, workforce learning, or industry collaboration, we’re looking for someone who is passionate about connecting industry with education and can bring fresh ideas and energy to our team.

Why this job is great

This role sits at the heart of industry and education, giving you the chance to shape how professionals upskill and reskill in an evolving job market. You’ll work across a diverse range of industries, connecting with thought leaders and ensuring their expertise directly enhances learning experiences.

You’ll also get end-to-end visibility across our learning ecosystem—from engagement and program design to course delivery. Whether it’s securing an industry speaker for a course, shaping co-curricular programming, or working with Careers to enhance student employability, your work will have a real and immediate impact.

Career progression at RMIT Online is a big focus. Many team members have transitioned into product, marketing, or strategy roles, and we actively encourage internal growth. You’ll be part of a small but mighty Industry Partnerships team, working alongside incredible professionals who love what they do and collaborate to make great things happen.

And, of course, we know work should be enjoyable! Our team culture is fun, supportive, and inclusive, with plenty of opportunities to celebrate wins (big or small). Whether it’s office banter, coffee-fueled brainstorming, or post-All-Hands catch-ups, we believe in fostering an environment where people feel valued and excited about what they do.

About the Team and Our Hybrid Ways of Working

The Industry Partnerships team is part of RMIT Online’s Workforce Solutions function. We’re a tight-knit group that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and big-picture thinking. We work closely with teams across Product, Course Design, Careers, Student Success, and Marketing, ensuring our industry engagement strategy is effective and aligned with our broader mission.

We operate hybrid, with Tuesdays and Thursdays in the office. We also prioritise coming in for company-wide events like All-Hands meetings, Showcases, and our quarterly Connection Sprints—a two-day, in-person business-wide event that’s part conference, part social, and a great way to connect with colleagues beyond your immediate team.

How to Apply
