Who is RMIT Online?

We’re not just another online education provider; we’re pioneers in supporting students to propel their careers through our accredited program portfolio. By partnering with industry experts and leading academics, we create engaging, practical courses designed to help students excel.

Our mission? To foster a community of lifelong learners equipped to meet the demands of the future workforce.

Why Work With Us?

Our perks are off the charts! We’ve mastered the art of flexibility with a hybrid model that lets you work remotely and pop into the Melbourne office twice weekly (but more on that later).

We’re passionate about continuous learning and offer exciting opportunities to engage with industry leaders, leading academics, and cutting-edge technology. Plus, we work in a highly collaborative, supportive, and good-humoured team that values connection—whether it’s through daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, or just debating the latest Married at First Sight drama over lunch.

Tell me about the role

This Marketing Coordinator role is all about keeping things running smoothly for our busy and talented Brand & Communications team, which sits within the Customer Success & Growth (CS&G) division. If you love the idea of making a team’s life easier—keeping projects organised, updating marketing content, supporting events, and helping manage social media—this could be the role for you.

A typical day might see you updating the website via the CMS, drafting and scheduling student communications, coordinating marketing assets, or ensuring our online events go off without a hitch. You’ll also support brand and content campaigns by assisting with scheduling, reporting, and administration.

While this role is hands-on with marketing, it’s also involves administrative work, so we’re looking for someone who gets genuine satisfaction from keeping things organised, ensuring no detail is missed, and helping a fast-moving team stay on track.

Let’s talk about our ideal candidate

You’ll be the kind of person who takes pride in ensuring a team runs efficiently—whether that’s keeping on top of content updates, coordinating campaign timelines, or making sure marketing assets are where they need to be.

You’ll have strong interpersonal and written communication skills (you’ll be drafting emails, social media posts, and event comms), as well as solid experience with digital platforms—whether that’s a CMS like AEM or Shopify, a project management tool, or a social scheduling platform.

A proactive mindset will go a long way in this role—you won’t just wait for instructions, you’ll look for ways to improve processes, spot gaps, and jump in where needed.

Ideally, you’ll have 2-3 years’ experience in a role that has marketing responsibilities, with a genuine enjoyment of providing support in a busy and collaborative environment. If you thrive in a role where you can keep things running smoothly behind the scenes, this is for you.

Why this job is great

This role is perfect for someone who loves coordination, organisation, and support work within a marketing team, but wants to gain more broader exposure. You’ll be at the heart of a collaborative, kind, and fast-paced team, ensuring marketing initiatives roll out seamlessly and no detail is missed.

You’ll get to work across a variety of marketing areas—social media, communications, content marketing, brand campaigns, and events—which means you’ll gain broad exposure while developing strong coordination skills.

More than that, you’ll be part of a fun, easygoing team that values both hard work and good humour. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our work seriously—meaning you’ll be supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow.

About the Team and Our Hybrid Ways of Working

The Brand & Comms team sits within RMIT Online’s Customer Success & Growth division, working closely with product marketing, PR, social media, and events. We’re a tight-knit, collaborative group that thrives on clear communication and structured workflows.

We have daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions to keep aligned, but these aren’t just about work—they’re also about checking in, supporting each other, and keeping our team culture strong.

We work hybrid, with Tuesdays (sometimes) and Thursdays (always) in the office. The rest of the week is up to you—whether you prefer working from home or a local café, we trust you to get the job done. When we are in the office, expect plenty of reality TV discussions, strong snack opinions, and an ever-growing list of lunch recommendations.

How to Apply

Some might think cover letters are outdated, but we see them as a test of your attention to detail and ability to communicate and connect—skills essential for this role!

  • A time you kept a team organised, on track, or running smoothly, and why that was rewarding for you.
  • Why you’re keen to join RMIT Online and your favourite reality TV show or controversial food take (optional, but we love a debate).

Joining RMIT Online means being part of a dynamic, supportive team that values connection, organisation, and efficiency. If you're looking for a structured, coordination-focused marketing role where you can make a genuine impact, we’d love to hear from you.
