Tell me about the role 

In today's dynamic business environment, the demand for financial leadership is greater than ever, and we're searching for a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join us as an Industry Mentor for our Finance for Business Leaders course.

Embrace a flexible commitment of 4-8 hours per week, fully remote, allowing you to work from any corner of Australia! Your main responsibility will be hosting weekly webinars where you'll dive into course content, address queries, and, most importantly, share compelling stories from your industry involvement to inspire career progression among course participants. 

As an Industry Mentor, you'll actively support learners through our Learning Management System (LMS) and Slack platforms. The 6-week program features specific milestones and culminates in a final project, where your valuable feedback will be instrumental. 

Each student is entitled to a 15-minute, one-on-one session with their dedicated mentor, which allows students to seek advice, gain insights, and receive the support needed to thrive in the course. You excel in empowering both aspiring and seasoned business leaders, guiding them to master essential financial skills crucial for achieving strategic goals. Your excitement stems from the opportunity to share your expertise, leading learners in developing competencies in research, budgeting, forecasting, financial report analysis, and risk assessment.

Your passion for financial leadership is evident, and your drive to assist others in mastering these vital skills is unwavering. The prospect of shaping the next generation of financial leaders fills you with enthusiasm. If you are eager to be the catalyst that inspires and elevates others in their financial leadership journey. 

To be successful as an Industry Mentor, you will have: 

  • Several years of industry experience, including exposure to the Australian banking sector. 
  • Ability to critically analyse organisational goals, financial drivers and risks, and develop comprehensive forecasts. 
  • Ability to gather relevant data, identify KPIs, and implement reporting strategies to support real-time decision-making and operationalise forecasts. 
  • Ability to present forecasts to stakeholders, clearly justifying decisions, assumptions, risks, and KPIs to influence business outcomes 
  • Effective communication skills to engage and collaborate with a diverse group of learners. 
  • A can-do attitude and the ability to take on feedback and reflect on best practice. 
  • Availability during business hours to host weekly webinars and support our learners
