Who Is RMIT Online?

We’re not just another online education provider; we’re pioneers in supporting students to propel their careers through our accredited program portfolio. By partnering with industry experts and leading academics, we create engaging, practical courses designed to help students excel.

Our mission? To foster a community of lifelong learners equipped to meet the demands of the future workforce.

Why Work With Us?

Our perks are off the charts! We’ve mastered the art of flexibility with a hybrid model that lets you work remotely and pop into the Melbourne office when needed (usually weekly, but more about that later).

We’re passionate about continuous learning and offer exciting opportunities to engage with industry leaders, leading academics and cutting-edge technology.

About the Role

RMIT Online is growing, and with growth comes exciting new opportunities. As part of our evolving strategy, we’re looking for a Product Manager who thrives on uncovering opportunities, collaborating across teams, and driving meaningful change in online higher education.

This newly created role is about shaping and managing a portfolio of accredited programs tailored for working professionals. You'll be at the centre of innovation, constantly refining our offerings to ensure students have access to relevant, high-quality education that advances their careers.

This role is about more than just managing products; it’s about identifying potential. You'll dig deep into data, analyse trends, and spot opportunities to evolve and enhance our program portfolio. Whether it’s launching new courses, refining existing ones, or responding to industry shifts, your expertise will be instrumental in shaping our offerings.

Working closely with stakeholders across RMIT Online and RMIT University, you’ll engage with academics, course designers, and operations teams to ensure our programs are both compelling and commercially sound.

Let’s Talk About You

We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of analytical thinking, commercial nous, and a passion for education. Ideally, you have:

  • At least three years’ experience in product management, marketing strategy, or project management in the education sector or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and use insights to drive product decisions.
  • A commercial mindset and a keen eye for spotting opportunities to enhance product offerings.
  • The ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with diverse stakeholders, from academics to marketing teams.
  • A growth mindset and curiosity about new ways to improve the student experience.
  • A natural ability to juggle multiple projects while staying cool under pressure (or at least looking like you are).

Why This Job Is Great

This is your chance to make a real impact in online higher education. You’ll get to work on distinctive products that help people advance their careers, all while enjoying the flexibility of a hybrid working environment.

You’ll have the autonomy to lead projects, the opportunity to collaborate with passionate colleagues, and the chance to drive meaningful improvements in student experiences. If you love problem-solving, making data-driven decisions, and seeing the tangible results of your work, this role is for you.

Plus, you’ll be joining a team that values creativity, innovation, and the occasional well-timed meme.

About the Team and Our Hybrid Ways of Working

You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking team that is passionate about higher education and student success. In a typical week, you’ll work with a wide variety of people within RMIT Colleges and Schools, as well as other teams in RMIT Online, including lead academic staff, program managers, data specialists, operations team members, and learning designers.

We embrace a hybrid way of working, so you’ll be in the office 1-2 days per week for face-to-face workshops, strategy sessions, and team activities, with the flexibility to work from home the rest of the time.

Our office time is for meaningful collaboration—not just sitting in a room together answering emails (because let’s be real, we can do that from home).

How to Apply

Some might think cover letters are outdated, but we see them as a test of your attention to detail and ability to communicate and connect—skills essential for this role!

So, in your cover letter, tell us:

  • Your experience managing product portfolios, including a project you're particularly proud of.
  • How you approach identifying new opportunities and refining existing products to ensure they’re both relevant and commercially successful.
  • Why you’re excited to join RMIT Online and two things on your bucket list you’d love to achieve outside of work.

Joining RMIT Online means being at the heart of a dynamic, innovative team that’s passionate about education. If you're ready to shape the future of online higher education, work alongside brilliant minds, and leave a lasting impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Bring your curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and maybe your favourite coffee order—we’ll provide the platform to help you shine. Let’s create something extraordinary together. Apply now!

The successful candidate will undergo a thorough selection process, including relevant background checks such as reference checks, national police checks, working with children checks, and verification of the Right to Work in Australia. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
