If you're an experienced turf expert and enthusiastic about maintaining high-quality pitches and grounds, this role is perfect for you! We are looking for a dedicated Groundsperson to join our Hastings Turf team on a permanent, full-time basis.
What You'll Do
As a Groundsperson, you’ll be vital in maintaining our sports grounds across the beautiful Hastings District, ensuring they remain in top condition year-round and are game-ready during the playing season. These grounds host both club and national-level competitions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Mowing, line marking, rolling, fertilising, and spraying.
- Setting up irrigation, watering and ongoing monitoring of playing surfaces.
- Support with the seasonal changeovers between different sports.
- Managing covers, setting up and removing goalposts in preparation for sporting events.
- Helping with various tasks to ensure the grounds are safe, well-presented, and ready for use.
What You'll Need to Succeed
We’re looking for an awesome team player, who is passionate about delivering top-quality work. To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A full driver’s licence with the capability to operate a manual vehicle.
- Level 4 Sports Turf qualifications or working towards Level 4 if currently holding Level 3.
- A genuine passion for sports, with a particular focus on cricket.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, representing Green by Nature and the Hastings District Council in a professional manner.
- A commitment to delivering high-quality results and taking pride in your work.
- The flexibility to adapt to seasonal demands, especially during the peak summer months.
