The Role

We are looking for a dedicated Gardener to join our team, working full-time (40 hours per week) across multiple sites in West Auckland. Reporting to the Team Manager, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing gardens throughout the region. Your responsibilities will include planting, weeding, pruning, and vegetation control, all while ensuring that the gardens you care for are safe, well-maintained, and meet client expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute garden maintenance tasks to meet client specifications, including following garden plans, sourcing plants and materials, and planting according to guidelines.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations on assigned sites, ensuring timely and high-quality work.
  • Mentor and guide trainees and fellow Gardeners, fostering a supportive and efficient work environment.
  • Maintain open communication with the Team Manager, reporting any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Prioritize safety, compliance, and quality in all aspects of your work.

About You

Our idel candidate will be passionate about horticulture, with a Level 3 National Certification in Horticulture (or working towards Level 4) and GrowSafe certification. You should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and a valid, full driver’s license with manual driving capability. Key skills and attributes we seek include:

  • Extensive knowledge of plant species and their maintenance requirements.
  • Ability to accurately follow and implement garden plans.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with the public.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude, with a willingness to assist others.
  • A desire to mentor and support others in their professional development.
