Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing small to medium-scale construction projects with a focus on project management, subcontractor coordination, client relationships, and handling daily repair and maintenance callouts for Council assets. This diverse role requires a proactive approach and strong leadership as you manage subcontractors, foster client relationships, and, as the team grows, oversee additional team members.

A Snapshot of Your Role

  • Collaborate and Coordinate: Regular check-ins with your Operations Manager, clients, and subcontractors to align on project goals and timelines.
  • Project Oversight: Your time will mainly be focused on internal audits, pricing and quoting for projects, supporting tender submissions, organising subcontractors, planning, and ensuring projects are executed efficiently.
  • On The Tools: On other days you'll be supporting your team with tasks such as landscaping, and installing or repairing outdoor infrastructure like picnic tables, bollards, and shelters.
  • Client Relations: Maintain clear communication our client, keeping them informed from project start to finish.

About You       

  • Project Management Expertise: Proven experience managing project schedules, subcontractors, and resources.
  • Strong Organisational Skills: Demonstrated ability to plan, organise, and coordinate effectively to balance workload and meet project demands.
  • Commitment to Quality and Safety: Dedicated to quality assurance and safety practices, ensuring subcontractors meet our high standards.
  • Relevant Trade Experience: A background in carpentry, plumbing, or landscape construction is ideal.
  • Competent Administrator: Proficient in computing and administration for project tracking and documentation.
  • Clear Communicator: Skilled in communicating with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Team-Oriented: Motivated to contribute to a strong team culture with a positive attitude.
  • Full Driver’s Licence: Must hold a full, manual driver’s licence.
