About the Centre

Brunswick Baths is a state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness centre located in the heart of Brunswick. The centre offers a wide range of facilities, including a 50-meter heated outdoor pool, a 20-meter heated indoor pool, a waterplay pool, a gym, a group fitness room, a functional training room, a spa, a sauna, and a steam room. The centre offers a variety of programs and classes for people of all ages and abilities, including swimming lessons, water aerobics, yoga, and pilates.

About the role

As a Duty Manager at Brunswick Baths you will have delegated authority of the Centre Manager, and will maintain a broad knowledge of programs and services. At the same time, you will manage a range of centre functions on shift which may include;

  • Supervise and lead the operational team to deliver a great experience including: Lifeguards, Customer Service Officers, Swim Teachers, Health Club Instructors and Group Fitness Instructors
  • Ensure the centre remains a welcoming environment for all community members and operations comply with policy and procedure
  • Maintain a working knowledge of and be ready to act in line with the Centre’s Emergency Action Plan

As a Duty Manager you will act as a positive role model in an effort to build strong people, strong families and strong communities. You will also champion safety by identifying potential risk factors and taking all reasonable steps to reduce those risks. The Full-time Duty Manager will play a pivotal role in the continued growth and success of the center.

About you

The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience in the industry and be an aspiring leader, who is comfortable motivating others to strive for success. As a key member of the leadership team, you will take on additional responsibilities, stepping up when needed. As the sole Full-time Duty Manager, you will lead by embodying YMCA values, maintaining standards and fostering a positive, productive environment for both staff and participants.

Essential Qualifications

  • Aquatic Pool Lifeguard Certificate
  • HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

Other Desired Qualifications or Knowledge

  • SISSS00131 Aquatic Technical Operator
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation is an advantage
  • Experience in a similar facility in a supervisory role is desirable
